2011 Scholarship Winner Writes From Scotland

Hi Mr. Paterson,

You should actually have a postcard waiting for you once you get back to Fort Myers! I would be happy to update you through email as well.

My stay thus far has been unbelievable! Classes are now in full swing and going very well. I couldn't ask for a more beautiful and scenic campus. I've had a wonderful time touring the Stirling castle and the Wallace monument so far, as well as getting to know the city of Stirling. Last week I hiked Mount Dumyat which is located right behind campus. It took about 3-4 hours round trip but was well worth it! It had the most gorgeous panoramic view I've ever seen.

This coming weekend I will be taking a trip to Inverness which I am really excited about. The weekend includes a ferry tour on Loch Ness, a whiskey distillery tour/tasting, and a trip to a sheep dog farm (among other things). I am also going to a Ceilidh next week and have heard that it should be a great time!

Overall it has been a wonderful experience and I feel so blessed to be here. I can't thank you and the rest of the St. Andrew's Society enough for all of your support. I look forward to seeing you all again at the Burn's Supper!
