2011 Scholarship Winner

Ms. Marissa Lockerby, of Lake Placid, FL, a sophomore at Florida Gulf Coast University, was awarded a scholarship by the St. Andrew's Society of SW Florida to study in Scotland. Ms. Lockerby, an Education major, survived a rigorous screening by the University and the Society to win the $5,000 scholarship. She plans to study at Stirling University (Scotland) in the September-December semester.

The St. Andrews Society reviews applicants put forward by the University each year to select a candidate who shows outstanding academic, social, and leadership skills. The selected candidate is usually (but not necessarily) of Scottish heritage.
